So freaking true….
I am pretty happy with the decision. From everything I am seeing, there is no way this movie could have done the return of Cyclops right. THere is almost too much going on as it is now.
With the way Singer screwed up his presentation in the first two films, I have no interest in seeing him try to bring him back during what looks to be another Wolverine movie.
I would rather have them deal with this after they are working with whatever the new playing field is going to be post DOFP
I agree. Marsden was also miscast. If anything, I would have cast Hugh Jackman as Cyclops, and Dougray Scott as Wolverine. Marsden does not come off as a leader and the script does not treat him as such. I hope that they reboot from this point forward, and use it like Claremont did.
'Days of Future Past' is also when “Uncanny” was officially added to the title. The longest running theme in the X-Men is the looming threat of extermination. Days of Future Past showed a very clear explanation of what the worst case scenario for the X-Men would be. And therein lies the secret to a long term drama series: drama.
I want a rebooted Cyclops as well. The best outcome I see from DOFP would allow for them reintroduce Scott without any acknowledgement of the version introduced in the first trilogy. Fingers and toes are crossed.
